This A List Of The Best DeHumidifiers For Your Grow Tent Or Small Grow Space

I’ve compiled this list of the 5 best small dehumidifier (s) on the market today to meet your specific needs for your grow room or grow tent.

The best option, that will give you the best results for your specific needs, is likely to be a little bit different from someone growing a number of plants that are more or less than you.

How Do Dehumidifiers Work?
Peltier Technology Explained

Dehumidifiers are very impressive and useful appliances in homes, garages, commercial spaces, grow rooms grow tents, or anywhere you need to reduce moisture levels.

Dehumidifiers are used to reduce the humidity in both small spaces as well as larger spaces such as a garage.

The fact that you can plug a dehumidifier into a power source on one end and remove as much water as you like on the other end, is nearly miraculous.

The Refrigeration Cycle In Both Dehumidifiers And Air Conditioners

How does a humidifier work?

The components in a dehumidifier are practically the same ones found in a window-mounted portable air conditioner that is used to cool any room of a house such as a bedroom or living room.

The first thing to understand is that both air conditioners and dehumidifiers use the “refrigeration cycle” ( or Peltier technology ) in their operating systems.

However, the way that air conditioners and dehumidifiers are set up is slightly different.

Dehumidifiers vs. Air Conditioners

In the case of air conditioners, one of the most important factors is the use of a refrigerant liquid such as Freon which is sealed into a coiled copper tube.

One side of the tube is heated up to over 200 degrees Fahrenheit by compressing the liquid through a compressor pump.

As this heated liquid is circulated through the copper coils it is cooled down by a fan blowing over them with the cooling power of water that is extracted from the air.

So, at the end of the refrigeration cycle, the cooled air that comes out of the exhaust fan has been converted from over 100 degrees Fahrenheit to approximately 20 degrees Fahrenheit.

The cool side of the copper coil in an air conditioning unit is separated from the heated compressed side by several inches (centimeters) of air and water-cooled aluminum sheets that are stacked vertically.

But in the case of a dehumidifier, the hot and cold copper tubes are side by side producing a condensation effect.

As water collects on the cool copper coil as it is heated, moisture from the air is collected through the condensation effect, and the many pints of moisture (or ounces) are collected in the tank or water reservoir attached to the dehumidifier unit.

Elements Of A Good Dehumidifier

One of the most important elements of both a basic dehumidifier and an advanced energy star rated unit is “simplicity”.

The control panel on each of the dehumidifiers that I recommend on this list has a simple power button and a simple desired fan speed setting.

Many dehumidifiers are equipped with a carbon filter, which filters out poor-quality air creating a more healthy environment.

Most small dehumidifiers don’t take up too much space and their noise level is low.

No matter how many square feet or square meters ( in both small and large spaces ) you need to dehumidify for optimal plant growth, any of the compact dehumidifiers in this article will keep your plants healthy from the flowering stage through the entire life cycle of your plants.

Where Is The Best Place To Buy A Dehumidifier?

In my opinion, the best place to find the best dehumidifier for 4×4 grow tent, or any other type of dehumidifier, is on Amazon.

The reason that I believe Amazon is the best place to find the perfect dehumidifier is because buyers rate their purchases with a star rating.

All of the dehumidifiers I have listed in this article have received a 5-star rating from at least 50% of customers who left a review.

The good news is that all of the dehumidifiers that I have shared with you here are available for purchase on Amazon.

Customers who have purchased these dehumidifying units have left very detailed reviews with their honest opinions on each unit, including the status of the optimal operating temperature as well as the ability to reset or continue operating during a power outage.
